Our Policies

Reservations

• Full payment for accommodations is required at the time of booking.
• You must be 21 or older to rent a cabin and/or glamping tent.
• Check-in is 4:00 p.m., Check-out is 11:00 a.m. Early check-in or late check-out must have prior approval from management.
• The maximum capacity for each cabin is the maximum capacity.  We do not allow guests to have more people in the cabins.  (5 people maximum in Annie's, 6 people maximum in Jack's and Barb's, 8 people maximum in Richard's and 2 people maximum per glamping tent.)
• There is a two (2) night minimum stay on weekends and holidays.
• Stay 6 nights and get the 7th night free!
• Virginia Sales Tax of 5.3% and Nelson County Lodging Tax of 5% are included in the rates listed online.  There is an additional booking fee when booking online, to avoid this fee, please call to book. 
• DOGS are allowed in all cabins.  A non-refundable dog fee of $50 per day is required. There is a two-dog maximum in all cabins.

Cancellations

• Payments are 100% refundable up until 15 days prior to your scheduled stay. 
• Cancelations with 8-14 days notice will receive a 50% refund. 
• No shows or cancellations within 7 days prior to your stay will result in 0% refund.  
  
  

Pet Policy- Friendly Dogs Only

• Dogs that are friendly with other dogs are allowed in all of our cabins.  
• We do not allow other pets (cats, birds, reptiles, etc.).
• Since our furry little four-legged friends leave behind memories of their presence, there is an additional pet fee of $50 per night for them and a two (2) dog maximum in all cabins.
• Please pick up and properly dispose of any waste.  Please let us know when making your reservation if you plan to bring your dog.
• If your pet-plans change, we can adjust the reservation and cost accordingly upon arrival.  
• We have a German Wirehaired Pointer, Ruger, that is on site most of time that is very friendly with dogs and people.  We kindly request that if your dog is not friendly with other dogs you make other arrangements for them. 
• If there are damages to the cabins or their furnishings during your stay, the cost of clean-up or repair will be applied to the credit card we have on file.  Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture.

Check-in / Check-out

• Check-in time is 4:00 pm
• Check-out is 11:00 am.
• If you desire to check in earlier, or stay later, we may be able to accommodate your request based upon the schedule. Please let us know in advance and we will do everything possible to accommodate you.

General

• Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas.  Please refrain from smoking outside in front of the internet lounge.  There is no smoking in the glamping area, there is a smoking area by the woodshed which is walking distance to the glamping.  Please dispose of your cigarette butts properly, do not litter on our property.  
• We are not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen personal items.  Should guests lose an item and it be found, we will make an effort to return the item via mail at guest's expense.  
• Guests agree to be responsible and to reimburse The Retreat at Crabtree Falls for any damage done.  Please treat our cabins respectfully.
• The Retreat at Crabtree Falls is for registered guests only.  We kindly ask you refrain from entertaining visitors during your stay with us. 
• Outdoor quiet time on the mountain is 9:00 pm; this is a STRICT policy.  We strive to offer all of our guests a premium experience while maintaining a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for all.  Amplified music outdoors is permitted during the day at a reasonable volume.  There is to be no amplified music outdoors after 9:00.  We do reserve the right to have non-compliant guests removed from our property with no refund.  

PLEASE NOTE: Cell Phone Reception

• There is NO CELL PHONE RECEPTION on the mountain. 
• There is high-speed internet in all of our cabins and in the glamping tents

Hot Tub

• A hot tub is provided at Richard's Retreat for the enjoyment of guests staying in Richard's Retreat.
• Please see the rules for your safety.
• The tub is cleaned prior to the arrival of each guest and with normal use requires no additional cleaning during your stay. Please take care to clean your feet and keep the tub free of leaves, grass, and debris during your stay.
• Excessive debris in the hot tub requires complete draining and re-filling of the tub at a cost of $100. If this is required after your stay, the additional cost will be applied to your credit card on file.

Wildlife in the Blue Ridge Mountains

• The Blue Ridge Mountains is home for many types of wildlife. While the majority of this wildlife is harmless and beautiful, there are some species that are dangerous and/or poisonous. By booking a reservation with us you are taking full responsibility for yourself and any injuries that may occur while you are here in the Blue Ridge at The Retreat at Crabtree Falls. Please be advised to stay away from large rocky areas, heavily grass and weed-covered areas to avoid snakes.
• There are black garden snakes, copperheads, and rattlesnakes in the area.  DO NOT TRY TO KILL THE SNAKES. This is often how most people get bitten.
• There are also bears in the Blue Ridge. If you see a bear, do not turn away or run. Make yourself as big and loud as you can and wave your arms and yell. This should frighten the bear away. If you run, you may be attacked. By booking your reservation with us, you are agreeing that we are NOT responsible for any harm inflicted by wildlife.
• Also, please understand that the spring and fall seasons bring a natural influx of both ladybugs and stinkbugs to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our cabins are professionally treated regularly by Orkin Pest Control and Critter Control to control all pests. However, we cannot guarantee that they will not be present at times in your cabin. This is a natural event and we are fighting the forces of nature in trying to control them.
