Our Policies

We want every guest to enjoy a peaceful, comfortable, and safe experience at The Retreat at Crabtree Falls. Please review the following policies before your stay.

Know Before You Go:

Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Guests must be 21 or older to rent a cabin or glamping tent.

Check-in: 4:00 pm | Check-out: 11:00 am

Early check-in/late check-out must be pre-approved.

Minimum Stay: 2 nights on weekends and holidays.

Capacity Limits: Strictly enforced per unit:

Annie’s Cabin – 5 guests

Jack’s Place – 6 guests

Barb’s House – 6 guests

Richard’s Retreat – 8 guests

Glamping tents – 2 guests each

Special: Stay 6 nights, get the 7th free!

Taxes & Fees: Rates include Virginia Sales Tax (5.3%) and Nelson County Lodging Tax (5%). Online bookings include a processing fee (call to book directly to avoid this fee).

Dogs are welcome in all cabins (not glamping tents).

Fee: $50 per dog, per night (non-refundable).

Maximum of 2 dogs per cabin.

Dogs must be friendly with other dogs (our on-site dog, Ruger, is very social).

Please:

Pick up and dispose of waste.

Keep dogs off furniture.

Notify us in advance if you plan to bring a dog.

If damages occur, repair costs will be charged to the card on file.

No cats, birds, reptiles, or other pets permitted.

Smoking is prohibited in all indoor spaces and in the glamping area.

A designated smoking area is available by the woodshed.

Dispose of cigarette butts properly — no littering.

The Retreat is for registered guests only — no outside visitors.

Guests are responsible for damages and reimbursing repair/cleaning costs.

We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Found items may be returned at guest expense.

The area is home to snakes, bears, and other wildlife. By booking, you assume responsibility for your own safety.

Snakes: Copperheads and rattlesnakes live here. Do not approach or attempt to kill snakes — this is the most common cause of bites.

Bears: If encountered, do not run. Stand tall, wave your arms, make noise, and the bear should retreat.

Seasonal ladybugs and stinkbugs are natural in the mountains. Our cabins are regularly treated by Orkin and Critter Control, but presence cannot always be prevented.
