Blue ridge mountain cabins

Richard’s Retreat

Sleeps 8
|
2 Bedrooms
|
2 Bathrooms
This authentic Appalachian log cabin, relocated from Kentucky, blends history with modern comfort. The original cabin was simply a one-bedroom home with a detached kitchen. When the cabin first arrived at Crabtree Falls, it featured a stone fireplace in the comfortable and warm living room and an upstairs sleeping loft for 6 with bunks and 2 full beds. The new addition expands the space with a cozy private bedroom downstairs with a queen-sized bed, a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a smart TV. Outside, relax in the hot tub, gather around the fire pit, or take in sweeping views of the mountains and river.

We had such a lovely time staying in Richard’s retreat. Absolutely loved the cozy cabin, fire pit and short drive to the gorgeous Crabtree waterfalls. Beth Anne was above and beyond sweet and made us feel right at home. The glamping tents and patio are beautiful as well, though we didn’t stay in them, we wish to soon. We will be back for sure. 11/10 recommend!

This place was so peaceful & refreshing. The house was clean, quaint, and had everything we needed, right down to the board games.

It's very close to the Falls hiking area & provides a welcomed respite after the hike. From the stars in the clear night sky to the warm morning sunshine and gentle babble of the river, it was a beautiful stay....We can't wait to return!

Please treat our home as you would treat your own. We love to open our cabins to guests so others may create wonderful memories here as we have. However, if a cabin becomes damaged, it hinders our ability to share the cabin with other guests. Please tidy up prior to your departure by washing all dishes and cooking utensils. Our housekeeper comes by and changes the beds and freshens between each reservation but please feel free to help by placing the used towels in the bathtub and please leave beds that were slept in unmade. There is no need to pull linens.

Please remember there is NO SMOKING inside the cabin. Pets are allowed for an additional $50 per night (for pets, we will require a credit card to keep on file). We also request you please be mindful of neighbors and keep the noise to a minimal after 9:00 PM.

Firewood is available for sale on site or guests may bring their own firewood that has been obtained from Virginia. We kindly request no out-of-state firewood on site. Again, for purchase of firewood we will require a card to be kept on file.

Most importantly– Enjoy yourself! There are so many wonderful options for how to spend your time here. Please take every opportunity to explore this beautiful area and all it has to offer!

Additional requests
